After the army asked me to testify against my ex-husband for a crime I can barely believe, forced to look back through the stories of my life, even though I’ve already written one whole book about it. 
UnAmerican, like uncultured before it, grapples with growing up in the children of God, religious cults, before going into a cult of another kind, the United States Army. But this time, instead of looking at the groups around me, I am looking in.UnAmerican is about power, and privilege, and whiteness, and otherness, and what it ultimately means to be an American.
